Queers of Forsyth aims to provide financial and community support to the marginalized peoples of north Georgia by focusing on sustainability education and action, promoting community rapport, and improving the local Social and Solidarity Economy.
We hope to update the website each month as our available content expands, thank you for your patience while we grow.
We believe one of the best ways to support our community is to bring education to the general population, as well as our legislators. This is possible through means such as classes, attending local meetings, and distributing zines.
So many are struggling right now, especially as we have seen our democracy shift into an oligarchy. We are working to offer a program for individuals to request or provide mutual and aid to their neighbors in solidarity of these difficult times.
We engage in sustainability action past that of education and the Adopt-A-Road program, and encourage our neighbors to participate in this action as well. The Earth is our only home and we can not afford to lose it.
The city of Forsyth hosts the nonprofit organization Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, which focuses on sustainability in Forsyth. Through their Adopt-A-Road program, we have adopted a 1.5 mile stretch of Kelly Mill Bridge Road and are responsible for keeping it clean.
We recognize the importance of locally-owned businesses in the fight against capitalism and corporate greed. It is important to support them, especially those that are most impacted by this society's unjust laws.
